Pundit Bholabai thought his wife Anita was losing her hearing, so one day he decided to test it. He walked in quietly through the front door and stood there hidden from her view. She was seated on a sofa busy with her knitting. “Anita,” he said, “can you hear me?” There was no response, so he moved to six meters behind her. “Anita,” he repeated, “can you hear me?” Still no reply. He advanced three meters and asked, “Now can you hear me?” “Yes, dear,” Anita replied gently. “For the third time, yes!”
Just because God is silent, it does not mean that he is not listening.
I pray to you, O God, because you answer me, so turn to me and listen to my words. – Ps 17: 6
